PEOPLE had a good workout and supported local charity FLEET when they took part in a Fat Slam fundraiser on Saturday.

The fitness event at Bodmin's Public Rooms was organised by 22-year-old Stuart Hendry who is running the London Marathon for the charity in April.

Taking a break from the fitness session are some of the people who came along to support the event.

Mr Hendry, who works at the town's Asda store, is hoping to raise £2,000 in sponsorship for FLEET (Front Line Emergency Equipment Trust).

He ran the same marathon two years ago for the charity and raised £1,500.

The fitness event on Saturday featured Zumba with instructor Mike Truscott and the new Bokwa routines with instructor David Herman.

Mr Hendry said he had hoped more people would come along to the event, but those who did enjoyed what was a very tough workout.

"The sessions were quite intense, but everyone who came enjoyed the workouts.

"People who normally take part in Zumba tried Bokwa and vice versa, and it was a pretty hectic afternoon for everyone.''

He said he was planning another fitness fundraiser on a different theme, to raise more money for his marathon sponsorship. Anyone wishing to donate can do so by going to Stuart Hendry's Just Giving internet page.
