Our Amazing Runners

Mark Arrowsmith

This will be my first marathon (maybe my last) but I,m looking forward to it I think?  Maybe a midlife crisis at 45, but to go through this pain for a good charity will be worthwhile.I've lived in Cornwall now for 16 yrs working at St Enodoc golf club as a teaching professional

Patsy Battle

This will be Patsy's 2nd Marathon running for FLEET. Patsy is a Community Responder for Polzeath as well as working full time at Port Isaac Surgery. Now put in 5 days training per week and numerous fund raising events to raise her London Marathon sponsorship and THAT's PATSY. A bundle of energy that never gives up. Dispite having a knee injury on the day, Patsy went into a first Aid unit on route, had her knee strapped and carried on to the end. It took 7 hours 20 minutes but she raised over £5000. Now she wants to do it all over again. Good luck Patsy. Please visit her justgiving page and give up your support.

Tracy Boucher

This is my first marathon and it was down to my son who got me into fitness. Not to be outdone by him I decided to take on a challenge and after watching the marathon on television over the years and saw competitors in their 70s taking part there was no excuse for me not to attempt this. I have been in the Ambulance Service for 21years and have been at various Ambulance Stations in that time. Please please help me in raising as much money as possible for this worthy cause as I have seen first hand what a valuable organsisation this is.

Gill Burley

The London Marathon 2012 will be my first marathon and something I have wanted to do for several years. Encouraged by my daughters who have both ran marathons, I have finally plucked up the courage to give it a go and am thrilled to be part of the FLEET team. I live in St Austell and am kept busy doing Post Office relief covering offices in the county for holidays and sickness. In my spare time I love to run. Please help me to raise money for this worthwhile cause.

Ryan Conradie

Hi my name is Ryan, I am a community first responder for the ambulance service in the St Merryn area. Over the years Fleet has supported me in this volunteer role by supplying vital emergency equipment for our responder group, so I thought I could raise them some money by running the 26.2 miles that is the London Marathon. It is my first marathon, but it has been a goal of mine to run it for a while now, so I am pleased to have this opportunity.

Please support me in this run by donating what you can for this worthwhile cause!

Andy Ellis

Hi all, firstly a big thanks for all your kind donations over the last few years. I didn't run in the 2011 Marathon and did miss it, mad I know! So I've decided to take part again in 2012.

Charlie Graham

My name is Charlie Graham.  I live near Pipers Pool with my wife Karen.  As I am now 50, time is getting ever faster and me somehow slower!  Sounds rather like a “midlife crisis” thing.  I have been in the South West Ambulance Service for 4 years now, and have just started my 1st of 4 years with the Open University. The final goal is to achieve a Paramedic Sciences Foundation Degree to enable me to work as a Paramedic.

I have only just got my position with 12 weeks to go, so time is short.  It’s on with the trainers and the Hi - Vis and lots of miles building up to this great event and hopefully the last physically punishing blister footed muscle aching mile.

Lee Mills

Hi, I am Lee and this will be my first marathon. though I did train for it last year but had a bit of a hiccup 3 weeks before so am ready to go this year. I have been a responder in Trevone, Padstow and St.Merryn for the last 3 year and absolutely love it. I run a pub and hotel in Trevone which keeps me out of trouble for most of the year. The marathon is something I have always said that I will do one day, so here we go and hope we make it this year. Some of our fundraising events have included and will include again next year a beer festival (end of may bank holiday) and a bbq & fete in August.

Henry

Hi. Im Henry, or just H is easier! This will be my 2nd London marathon after saying 1 will be enough! I finished last years in under my target time of 5 hours. I manage a Coffee shop in Padstow and chef at a hotel and pub in Trevone. My partner is Lee who is also running the marathon for FLEET so we both hope to raise lots of money. Please help by supporting our events which will be on the FLEET website. Let the training begin!!!

Dale Randle

I thought it about time I decided on a Charity who I would make my main fund raising efforts for in 2012. Most of you may be aware that I'm always involved in some capacity with RN Boxing or at HMS RALEIGH attempting to raise Charity resource for Servicemen who are in need. Having lived in Cornwall for 7 years and being married to a Paramedic (who works at Newquay), I decided that this year I would take up the opportunity to raise some much needed money for a local Charity; FLEET, Frontline Emergency Equipment Trust Ltd, by attempting to complete the 2012 Virgin London Marathon.

Marie Tonkin

Marie started running 18 months ago and wanted to take it more seriously after completing her Degree course and gaining employment as a Paramedic with SWAST! So far she has managed to run the Indian Queens Half Marathon in good time, which is a big achievement due to the fact that in her Army days she was nicknamed "Sally Gunnel" as a joke for being so slow!! So now Marie has achieved her long term goal in becoming a paramedic, she now wants to achieve short term goals and running the London marathon for charity is one of them! Please support her by raising as much money as you can for this much needed charity!

Mike Trebilcock

This will be Mike's 3rd Marathon for FLEET.  His best time so far is 3hrs 38mins, he's really hoping to get under the 3hr 30min mark.  Please sponsor him and give him that extra encouragement not to walk from 23 miles like he did last time.

Matt Westlake - Wappo

Last year was Wappo's 1st marathon. Being a little over weight, like 18 stone, this presented a huge challange. Matts dedication and commitment got him out running, using the Gym and changing his diet. Wappo lost 4 stone and completed the marathon in a good time. He has continued with his fittness program and is looking fitter and stronger every time we meet. Please support his dedication and sponsor him for the challange of his 2nd London Marathon.

Norm

This will be Norm's 20th Marathon, it's his 60th Year
and his last year as a full time Paramedic!

Please help him with his fundraising.
